Seeking new plays

The Playwrights' Atelier in Ashland is currently seeking new plays of all types, including ten-minute, one-act, and full-length plays written by local playwrights. Selected plays will be read by local actors before a live audience in the Gresham Room of the Ashland Public Library on the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.. These events are always free. Writers will select their own actors to do the reading. There will be a short feedback discussion with the author, actors, and audience members following each reading to allow playwrights to adjust their scripts at home after hearing them read out loud, if they choose to. It's informative, fun, and brings theater artists closer together. The environment is supportive; experienced, as well as first time playwrights are encouraged to submit their work.

For more information and/or to submit a play, please contact Phil Loveless at Plove121@aol.com or Bert Anderson at berta@bisp.net.

The best seat in the house can be yours...

Although the new theatre seats have been in place for several years, many lack an engraved brass name plaque, a way for the theatre-going public to see your support for Barnstormers.

So, we are continuing to offer commemorative seat plaques in the auditorium. Leave your own legacy, honor the name or memory of a loved one, or recognize an important institution with one or more plaques.

A seat plaque is $360. The funds are used to help with theatre maintenance and upgrades.
Contributions to Barnstormers are tax-deductible.
